METTER -- Mrs. Mary Beth Fordham, 98, of Metter, died Tuesday morning at Azalea Health and Rehab under the care of her family and Southern Hospice. The Bulloch County native has lived in Metter for the last 60 years and was the oldest living member of Metter First Baptist Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, traveling, knitting, crosswords, cooking and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Throughout the years, she also volunteered with the American Red Cross and was a longtime member of the Metter Hardee's breakfast group prior to its closing. She is predeceased by her parents, four brothers and seven sisters.

She is survived by the following sons: Wayne (Myra) Fordham of Metter, Jerry (Ann) Fordham of Statesboro and Stan (Dianne) Fordham of Metter. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; and care giver, Marsha Lee.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 4, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. at the Metter Chapel of Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes.
The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Kennedy-Brannen Funeral Homes, Metter Chapel, with the Rev. Vic Fordham Jr. and the Rev. Waldo Woodcock officiating. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery in Statesboro.
Pallbearers will be the great-grandsons.
