STATESBORO, Ga. - Mr. Michael "Puppy" Albanese Jr., age 48, died Tuesday at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Albany, Ga., and had lived in Statesboro since 1979. He loved cooking for others, making candles and tie-dyed clothes, and had a great love for animals. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Albanese and Timmy Albanese.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Deal Albanese; his stepchildren, Bridgette Hodges and Jacob Hodges; his mother and stepfather, Patricia and Ron McCormick, all of Statesboro; his father, Michal Joseph Albanese Sr. of Okinawa, Japan; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Austin and Miriam Deal of Statesboro; his brothers, Tony Albanese of Statesboro, David True of Minneapolis, Minn.; his sister, Cacinda Walker of Calhoun, Ga.; his grandson, Jace Hodges of Statesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 3, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
