STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Ronald Greene passed into eternal rest on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at his residence, under the excellent care of Odyssey Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Bulloch County and a graduate of both Portal High School and Georgia Southern University. He grew up in and was a member of Scarboro Grove Baptist Church, where he served faithfully until moving away. While in Atlanta, he affiliated himself with Rivers Edge Church, East Point, Ga. He was employed as the registrar/executive director at the Chattahoochee Technical College, Marrietta, Ga. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by a daughter, Olivia Greene, Claxton; his mother, Clara Greene, Portal; three brothers, James (Bridget) Greene, Statesboro, Jerry (Gloria) Greene, Hampton, Ga., and Richie Greene, Marietta, Ga.; one sister, Ramona Mikel, Portal; two aunts, Evelyn Burks, Detroit, Michigan, and Alberta Ball, Atlanta; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Mr. Greene will be held on Saturday, May 18th, at 11 a.m. at Scarboro Baptist Church with the Rev. Ervin Tincha officiating. The Rev. Grant Turner is the pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive family and friends on Friday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
