SARDIS, Ga. -- Mr. William C. "Bill" Joiner, age 58, died on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at the Georgia Regents Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. The Vidalia, Ga., native was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Joiner lived in Leadville, Colo., and worked as a timber man for over five years before moving to Jenkins County and living there for most of his life. He worked for Bellcrest Mobile Homes for over 25 years as a supervisor. He moved to Burke County in 2007. He loved to hunt, fish, being outdoors, his family and was a talented carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Inuz and Reba Joiner; and a brother, Benjamin T. Joiner.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Tommy Buchan of Pembroke, Ga.; a son, Scott Joiner of Millen, Ga.; two granddaughters, Savannah Marie Joiner of Portal and Kylie Brook Buchan of Pembroke; a grandson, Colby Lee Buchan of Pembroke, Ga.; his former wife, Angelia Marie Joiner of Millen; a nephew, Jacob Joiner; and a niece, Darla Hutchinson; an aunt, Doris Burnette of Atlanta, Ga.
The visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-2 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson-Saxon-Prescott Funeral Home in Waynesboro.
The memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson-Saxon-Prescott Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Brown officiating.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Shock Trauma ICU at Georgia Regents Medical Center, 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912.
