Diane Richardson Lanier, 49, of St. Augustine, Fla., passed away November 13, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a graduate of Georgia Southern University and was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity. She had worked for GMAC for 19 years. She was an active member of the Mandarin Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her father, Samuel C. Richardson Jr.; and her mother, Shirley Wells Johnston.
She is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Ben Larry "Benjy" Lanier Jr.; her sons, Justin Matthew (Andria) and Logan Marshall; and her daughter, Alexa Ann Lanier; her brother, Samuel Charles (Darlene) Richardson III; her sister, Teresa (Henry) Horne; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on November 15, 2012, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home in Mandarin with a celebration of life service at the Mandarin Baptist Church on November 16, 2012, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Bill Yeldell officiating. Burial will be in the Elam Baptist Cemetery in Millen, Ga., at 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mandarin Baptist Church or the Earl B. Hadlow Community Hospice Center.
