FLEMING Ga. -- Mr. Albert Arthur Hodges Jr., age 79, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at his residence. He was born in Savannah, Georgia, in 1934 and had lived in Fleming, Ga., for the last 38 years. Mr. Hodges was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Savannah Coca-Cola Bottling Company in 1996 after many years of service. Mr. Hodges loved Braves baseball, gardening and cooking.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Albert A. (Deborah) Hodges III of Pembroke, Ga., and John A. "Alan" (Pat) Hodges of Fleming, Ga.; two grandchildren, Christopher Hodges of Pembroke, Ga., and Alana Hodges of Fleming, Ga.; and one sister, Frances Proman of Savannah.
Visitation will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Baptist Church in Pembroke, Ga., with the Rev. Albert A. Hodges III officiating.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lawrence Baptist Church, 723 McCoy Road, Pembroke, Ga. 31321.
