STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Shelby Jean Deal Ranew, age 76, died on Friday, April 4, 2014, at her residence under the care of Gentiva Hospice. The Bulloch County native had moved along with her husband during his service in the U.S. Air Force before returning to Statesboro in 1974. She was a homemaker and loved to garden, crafting, fishing and painting. She was a homemaker and owned and operated S&S Flowers. She was a loving mother, friend, loved her family and was humorous.

Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Perry (Kathy) Ranew of Statesboro; two daughters and a son-in-law, Tracey (Dwayne) Herrington of Millen and Kimberly Ranew of Statesboro; five grandchildren, Richard Ranew, Travis Motes, Stephen Wheeler, Amanda Wheeler and Danielle Gannon; two great-grandchildren, a brother, Edgar Dwayne Deal of Statesboro; a sister, Sue Nell NeSmith of Brooklet. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The visitation will be held on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
The funeral will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home. Interment will be in Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
