STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Richard Vance Wilson Sr., age 63, died suddenly Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Richard was born on July 2, 1950, in Tacoma, Washington, to Jeannine Julienne and Zeb Vance Wilson, both whom he joins in heaven. He was also preceded in death by his younger brother, James Wilson in heaven. He was a longtime resident of the Savannah area, then resided in Rincon for 10 years before moving to Statesboro, Ga., where he resided for the past nine years.
He enjoyed fishing and mechanical work, but above all else, enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family. He was a loyal employee for PepsiCo for 21 years and dedicated to the brand.
Richard was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Richard is survived by his wife and lifelong partner, Diane Allard Wilson of Statesboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Marie and Judd West of Pooler; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ricky and Jennifer Wilson of Wilson, N.C., and Donny Wilson of Statesboro; three grandchildren, Nathaniel Elijah West, Katelyn Marie Wilson and Alayna Elizabeth Wilson. He also leaves behind his older brother, Henry Mike Wilson; and younger sister; Nancy Loraine Wilson, both of Savannah.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Albert Hodges officiating. Interment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens in Statesboro.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Allard, Mike Allard, Tommy Fordham, Chris Shuman, James Owens and Daniel Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers will be his co-workers of PepsiCo.
