STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Stanley Canty, age 51, passed into eternal rest on Monday, April 21, 2014, at the Candler County Hospital in Metter, Ga. The Bulloch County native was a graduate of Statesboro High Class of 1980 and also attended Southeastern Technical School. He was employed as a brick mason with Robert Canty Builders of Statesboro, Ga.

He leaves fond memories to be cherished by his wife, Mrs. Sharon Canty of Register, Ga.; his children, Jermaine Canty, Kevin Parrish and Chrissie Canty, all of Statesboro, Ga.; his parents, Elder Robert and Geneva Canty of Statesboro, Ga.; two sisters, Felena Canty of Detroit, Mich., and Twala Williams of DeLand, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Mae Lois Brown of Statesboro, Ga.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
There will be a public viewing for Mr. Canty on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, during the hours of noon and 7 p.m. at Hill's Mortuary, Inc., in the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel, 58 Packinghouse Road, Statesboro, GA 30458.
The graveside service for Mr. Canty will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2014, in the Johnson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Portal, Ga., with Pastor Darnell Harden officiating.
