STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Anna Brown Wiggins Nollette, age 80, died Wednesday, surrounded by her children, in the Ogeechee Area Hospice Home. She was a native of Fulton County, Georgia, but had lived most of her life in Statesboro. Anna was married to Wallace H. Wiggins for 29 years and they had five children together. Anna then married Troy Nollette and moved to Oregon for 25 years until his death. She then moved back to Statesboro to care for her mother and be near her children and grandchildren. Anna worked for Ogeechee OBGYN Clinic with Dr. Richardson and Dr. Kent for many years as their nurse. She loved to knit quilts, table linens and Christmas tree skirts, which she shared with family and friends, as well as gardening and crocheting small Santas and afghans.
Anna was preceded in death by both husbands, a son, Michael Wiggins; and her father and mother, Eugene and Ruth Brinson Brown Owensby.
Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Anna and Harry Swicord of Statesboro and Laura and Ron Waller of Augusta; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wallace and Naisha Wiggins Jr. of Charleston, S.C., and Joey and Leslie Wiggins of Statesboro; grandchildren, Shawn (Liz) Corbett of Statesboro, Michelle (Richard) Scherer of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Brandon Waller (fiancée Lindsey McWhorter) of Augusta, Ga., Carly Wiggins of Savannah, Kari Wiggins of Augusta, Wallace "Trey" Wiggins III, Matthew Wiggins and Zachary Wiggins, all of Laouisiana, Savannah and Sierra Wiggins of Charleston, S.C., Grason Wiggins of Baltimore, Md., and Bradley Anna Wiggins of Nashville, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Robert, Michael and Matthew Scherer and McKenney, Michael and Grace Ann Corbett; a brother and sister-in-law, Walt and Sylvia Brown of Statesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service was held Thursday, August 21, 2014, in Bulloch Memorial Gardens with Brandon Williams officiating.
