STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Robert "Stanker" Poole, age 54, died on August 20, 2014, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. The Lexington, South Carolina, native had lived for most of his life in Pelion, S.C. He was a carpenter and worked for Jeffcoat Building Systems for over 20 years and Ben Moore Construction for the last several months. He moved to Statesboro two years ago. He was an avid fan of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks. He was a member of the Wayside Baptist Tabernacle Church in Pelion and he attended Bible Baptist Church in Statesboro, where he was a member of the Primetimers Sunday School Class and the Loveworks Ministry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenley M. and Frances Poole Sr.; two brothers, Kenley M. Poole Jr. and Randolph "Randy" Poole; and two sisters, Loucresha Jeffcoat and Angela Sheffield.
Surviving are his wife of six years, Judy Hendrix-Poole of Statesboro, Ga.; a sister, Kenneth Anne Poole of Pelion, S.C.; nephews, James Randolph "JR" Smith, Alvin Jeffcoat, Jamie Burroughs, Danny Lee Hendrix, Keith Hendrix, Josh Hendrix and Landon Williams; nieces, Elaine Williams and Nicole Williams; several cousins, aunts and uncles.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2014, at 4 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Jon Edmisten officiating.
The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.
Interment will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Wayside Baptist Tabernacle Church.
Pallbearers will be the deacons of Bible Baptist Church.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Primetimers Sunday School Class and the members of the Loveworks Ministry.
