SYLVANIA, Ga. - Mrs. Virginia "Ginny" Maierhoffer, age 46, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, August 30, 2014, after a long and brave battle with cancer.

Ginny was born in Hampton, Virginia on February 13, 1968. She then lived in Hollywood, Fla. She settled in Sylvania, Ga. in 1985, where she met her high school sweetheart and husband, Hank Maierhoffer, and raised their two daughters, Lauren Maierhofffer Amason and Jessica Lynn Maierhoffer.
Ginny will be remembered by her kindness, infectious smile, thoughtfulness and love of flowers. Ginny welcomed all who visited into her home. There was always an extra place at the table for dinner and the feeling of being part of the family. The most important thing to Ginny was her family, She devoted her life to her husband and raising their two daughters. She will long be remembered for her strength during her long battle with cancer. She always remained positive and her strong faith in God never wavered.
She is followed in death by her husband, Henry Frank Maierhoffer Jr., daughters. Lauren Maierhoffer Amason and Jessica Maierhoffer, son-in-law, Andrew Amason, Jr.; parents, Deborah and Leonard Yeoman, brother,, Christopher Yeoman; mother-in-law: Bonnie Maierhoffer and late father-in-law; Henry Maierhoffer, Sr.; sister-in-law; Kathleen Zich and brother-in-law Terrance Zich, sister-in-law; Annie Brown and brother-in-law; Paul Brown; aunt, Wendy Yellin and recently departed uncle, Norman Yellin; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Ginny will be held Sunday, August 31, 2014, at 4 p.m. at Believers Church of Sylvania with the Rev. Clint Williams officiating.
Visitation will be at the church Sunday from 3 until 4 p.m.
Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home of Sylvania is in charge of all arrangements.
