METTER - Dr. Robert S. Robinson, 82, died Friday, December 11, 2009. He was born August 8, 1927, in Carroll County to his parents, Henry and Bonnie Stogner Robinson.
Dr. Robinson was a retired physician of 50 years, practicing in Vienna, Buena Vista and many years with Medical Associates of Metter dba as St. Joseph/Candler. He was a member of The Metter United Methodist Church, a Navy veteran, having served in World War II, and in 2004 was honored as the Candler County Citizen of the Year. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his former wife, Catherine Jordan Robinson; a son, Robby Robinson; sisters, Nellie Miles, Rebecca Redden, Cavelle Robinson and Nan Davidson; brothers, Arnold, Martin and Benjamin Robinson.
Survivors: wife of 27 years, Suzie B. Robinson; children, Cathie (Danny) Bennett, Gail (Bob) Clark, Bobby Robinson, Tommy Robinson, David (Ana) Robinson, Greg (Julie) Robinson, Tammy (Jamey) Donaldson, Bonnie Robinson; brothers, Dr. Clark (Louise) Robinson, Jerry (Kay) Robinson; sister, Berta Baklini; sisters-in-law, Florence Robinson and Maine Robinson; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday in the chapel. Burial followed in Lake Cemetery.
Kennedy-Morgan-Brannen, Metter-Cobbtown.
