Clayton Allen Obituary

Clayton Thomas Allen, age 35, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013. He was a 1995 graduate of Portal High School, where he played football, basketball and baseball. Clayton obtained an Associate's degree in Audio Engineering from Omega Studios in Maryland. He joined the United States Air Force in 2000 and served as an audio engineer until January 2013. Clayton also obtained an Associate's degree in Applied Science Electronic Systems from the Community College of the Air Force. He loved all types of music, traveling, but especially treasured the time he spent with his family. His proudest moments include the birth of his children and honorably serving his country in time of war. His family meant everything to him. He enjoyed watching Falcons football games with his dad, brothers and uncles. Clayton loved teaching Carter his trade in audio engineering. One of his fondest memories with Callie was taking her to the father/daughter Princess Ball; and he and Carson enjoyed watching movies and eating popcorn together.
Clayton and Allyson would have celebrated 13 years of marriage on May 5, 2013. They had been best friends for over 15 years. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Al Cleary; and his best friend, Ziggy "Bobo" Allen.
Survivors include his wife, Allyson Cleary Allen; his children, Carter, Callie and Carson Allen; his parents, Chuck and Penny Allen; his brother, Travis (Katie) Allen; his sister, Amy (Teon Ameer) Allen; his mother-in-law, Dianne Cleary; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 17, 2013, from 4-6 p.m. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Monday, March 18, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.

Memories and Condolences
for Clayton Allen

Not sure what to say?

Clayton Allen was a blessing to this Earth for the shot time he was here. Not only was he a loving and proud father to Carter, Callie and Carson, but he dearly loved his wonderful wife Allyson, and he gave hours and risked his life to go on humanitarian missions to help strangers in other countries. He was a hero in life, and a gifted musician. He will be greatly missed. This is a great loss. My love to you Allyson and the sweet babies. Love always, Abby Gayle Wright

We are so sorry for the loss of your beloved son, Clayton. We will never forget the time we spent with Clayton when he was a small boy. I remember Clayton, Jennifer, and Elizabeth jumping on the trampoline in the back yrd. Clayton was the master jumper and he showed his cousins how to jump.... and not fall off!!! A wonderful man who will be greatly missed by all.

Our hearts go out to Clay's entire family. I knew Clay to be a devoted husband and father, and a wonderful friend who was dedicated to his craft. He was the hardest working, most conscientious sound guy I ever worked with, and one heck of a nice young man. Rest In Peace, Clay.

I was so sorry to read about your loss. Reading the guest book really showed the kind of person Clayton must have been. He had so many dear friends expressing appreciation for knowing him. What a legacy to leave for his children. I pray that your memories will one day soon bring you laughter and peace rather than pain.

Clayton, I loved you like a son, and thank God we had a wonderful son-in-law/mother-in-law bond. I'll never ever forget that face when you picked me up from the Frankfurt airport last April. You were grinning from ear to ear. There are far too many fond memories to count. Thank you for being such a great daddy and husband. I know you always wanted creamed corn when you visited, and I'll always remember you being so excited when it was time to eat it. But most of all, thank you for being such a good, kind, caring, loving(and the words could continue on) person. We will truly miss you more than words could say. RIP--I Love You, and thank God you always knew it.

Clayton, the last time I saw you I was cooking tacos for you and Seth last summer. You went back for seconds after I promised there was plenty! Lol, I remember I sent you home with some good old fashion "Tang" to share with Allyson and the kids. You were always so kind and grateful for everything. You will be missed! Allyson, you are one amazing woman and someone who has always inspired me. Stay strong, keep your chin up and know that I love you and your babies forever and always.
