Mr. Johnny Thomas Jones, 73, died Friday night at the Screven County Hospital. The Bulloch County native was a retired farmer and deacon and choir director at Farmdale Baptist Church. Preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Jones.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Dorothy Lariscy Jones of Sylvania; children, Carol Sue and Bobby Deloach of Sylvania, John Michael and Joette Jones of Statesboro, Thomas Allen Jones of Cocoa, Fla.; step-children, Nancy D. and Richard Wates of Edgefield, S.C., Jarrell "Sport" Lariscy of Register, Douglas and Darlene Doyle, Gary and Kim Doyle, Hugh Doyle, all of Sylvania; sisters, June J. Burke-Forehand and Gerry Forehand, Janel J. and Dale Thompson, both of Sylvania; brother, Jerry and Nancy M. Jones of Sylvania; grandchildren, Buddy Bell, Shaun Jones and Shaina Jones; 15 step-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Lewis Pierce and the Rev. John Parker officiating.
Burial will be in the Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be David Burke, Daniel Thompson, Jim Smith, Mark Jones, Joe Jones and Douglas Doyle.
Deacons of the Farmdale Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation at the funeral home Sunday from 7-9 p.m.
