Benjamin Morris MOSKOWITZ

MOSKOWITZ, Benjamin Morris

Benjamin Morris Moskowitz, beloved father and PawPaw, died January 18, at the age of 84. Benny was a longtime resident of Baytown before retiring to the Austin area in 1992. After graduating from University of Texas and a tour of duty in the Korean War, he had a 36 year career at Lee College in Baytown as a teacher, coach and student activities director. He was married to Doris for 53 years, before her death in 2008. He gave over 30 years of volunteer service to the American Red Cross in addition to numerous years volunteering at his beloved Morris Williams Golf Course. Benny loved golf and was proud of "shooting his age" twice at 82 and 83. He also was very proud of his family and found his greatest joy when they were all together. He is survived by his children Joe Moskowitz, Melanie and Marshall Snyder, Bonnie and David Cohen, and David and Jennifer Moskowitz. He is also survived by his grandchildren Rebecca and Sarah Cohen, Sam and Elanor Snyder, Ben and Ryan Moskowitz, Chris and Dulce Nichols, Jason Nichols and great-grandchildren Austin, Zoe and Maxx Nichols and siblings Gertrude Teter and Dolly and Eddy Golden. A memorial service will be held January 26 at 2:00 at Congregation K'Nesseth Israel in Baytown. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lee College Foundation or the American Red Cross.
