Bob Cameron, age 84, died Sunday, January 13th 2013. He was born October 17, 1928 in McKinney Texas where he grew up and graduated from high school as salutatorian of his senior class. He continued his education at Rice University and graduated with a degree in Economics. After graduation he enlisted in the navy where he served as a Lieutenant on the U.S.S. Princeton during the Korean War
. After the war, he was in the banking business in Dallas, Texas for many years while he and his first wife, Donna, raised their children Beech, and Carol. Bob moved to Austin with his wife Mary in 1982, where he seemed to discover and cherish the great outdoors. You could always find him with binoculars in hand watching his beloved birds. He loved all animals. Bob retired from the family business, Auto Title Services of Oak Hill, in 2010. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary, son Beech, daughter, Carol Austin and husband, Steve, grandchildren, Casey, Colin and Cameron. He is also survived by step-children, Sheri Pillard and partner, Jinee, Jacqueline Pillard Wittmuss and step-grandchildren, Ashli and Ray Wittmuss. Bob was a kind and gentle man who will be immeasurably missed by his friends and family. The family would like to thank Leslie Whitehead and South Park Meadows, especially Marie, for their compassionate care during Bob's illness.
