Carol Alba, age 46, was called peacefully by our Heavenly Father on May 3, 2006. Carol was preceded in death by her father, W.E. Lawler. She is survived by a loving family, including her husband of 24 years, Jesse C. Alba, son, Jesse Lanham Alba, daughter, Megan Alyssa Alba, mother, Billie Jo Lawler, brother, Richard Lawler, and sister, Jane Greenwood and husband Ed Urias all of Austin. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Carol was a 1977 graduate of William B. Travis High School and completed Durham's Business College. She married Jesse C. Alba on February 27, 1982. Carol was a devoted member of Faith Baptist Church on Jones Road. She worked over twenty-seven years for the State of Texas, first at the Texas Rehabilitation Commission and more recently at the Office of Civil Rights. Carol cherished the time she spent with family and friends and was a wonderful, nurturing mother to her children, Jesse and Megan. Everyone who came into contact with Carol realized that she was genuinely kind- hearted, compassionate, and always with a smile or a laugh to share with others. She made friends everywhere she went and will be missed by many. Carol loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with her dachshunds and cats and she was an avid Texas Longhorn and Dallas Cowboy fan. Carol also volunteered through Asera Care Hospice. A memorial service will be held at Hyde Park Baptist Church, 3901 Speedway, on Saturday, May 6, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. The family invites friends to join them after the service for a reception.
