Cindy Truitt BERRIER(1956 - 2014)

BERRIER, Cindy Truitt

Cindy Truitt Berrier passed away in Austin, TX on Friday, July 18, 2014 after an eight-year battle with breast cancer. She was born November 22, 1956 in Abilene, TX, the oldest child of Marion and Janina Truitt. Cindy grew up in Abilene, graduating from Cooper High School in 1975. She married David Berrier in 1978. In 1987, the family moved to Austin. Cindy worked at Berrier & Company, PC, CPAs until 2013, when her disabilities prevented her from doing so. Cindy showed strength she never knew she had and taught us all a lesson how to pass with courage and grace.

Cindy thought her greatest joy in life was raising her four boys, until she was blessed with her grandchildren. She wants her sons to know how proud she is of all of them. She wants her grandchildren to know how special they are to Nana.

Cindy is survived by her husband, David and sons Jay (Jill), Hailey of Lemoore, CA, Brian (Angela) Hailey, Jeffery (Natasha) Berrier and Keil (Kelly) Berrier, all of Austin. Also, her parents, Marion and Janina Truitt of Temple, brothers Tim (Marla) Truitt of Temple, Scott Truitt of Abilene and sister Lesa Truitt of Dallas. Additionally, she is survived by her in-laws, Ron and Joan Berrier of Abilene, her eight and a half grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, friends and her three dogs.

The family expresses their appreciation to Dr. Youman and the nurses and staff of Texas Oncology, for giving Cindy these additional years for her to enjoy her family and this life. Additionally, they would like to thank Hospice Austin; they worked unending hours to care for Cindy as only angels of God could do.

Her husband would like to thank all of the family and friends that have provided prayers, assistance and support, especially in these last few months.

Services will be held Tuesday, July 22 at 10:00 am at Bethany United Methodist Church, 10010 Anderson Mill Road, Austin with interment at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation at Austin-Peel & Son Funeral Home, 607 E. Anderson Lane, Austin from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, July 21. In lieu of flowers, Cindy requests donations be made to Wounded Warriors or St. Jude's for Children.
