Clarence Ackermann Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Clarence Ackermann passed away on November 29, 2004, at the age of 82. He was born on October 21, 1922, in Bexar County, Texas, to Adolph L. and Ida F. (Rittimann) Ackermann. Clarence served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was a POW for 11 months in Germany. He retired from Southwestern Bell after 45 years of employment. Clarence was a former Rotary Club of Seguin President, a life member of the POW Club, and served on many church boards and building committees. In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his sister, Clara Marckwardt. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Kathleen Ackermann of Austin; son, Keith and wife Eleanor Ackermann of Orlando, Florida; and grandson, Clayton Ackermann of Orlando, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 2, 2004, at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home, 9700 Anderson Mill Road, with Dr. Fred Morgan officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Clarence's memory to the Hope Presbyterian Church Generation to Generation Fund, 11512 Olson Drive, Austin, Texas 78750 or Hospice Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Road, Suite 100, Austin, Texas 78759.
