Dorotha Brown Barr Dorotha Brown Barr, age 85, of Austin passed away, Friday, May 17, 2013. She was born September 7, 1927 in Memphis, Tenn. to William P. and Genevieve Brown. She lived in Austin since 1960. She presided as president of the Heart of Texas Orchid Society, of which she was a lifetime member, as well as a past president of the CPA Wives of Austin, and was active in the Laguna Gloria Art Guild. She attended the School of Fine Arts at The University of Texas at Austin and found a great deal of enjoyment in her work as an Artist. She was a Daughter of the King at St. Luke's on the Lake Episcopal Church and a member of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. She was preceded in death by her husband, The Reverend Ben B. Barr, her daughter, Marie Jean Barr, her son, Ben William Barr, and her sister Lavonia Randall. Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Barr, her granddaughter, Elizabeth Roark and husband Dave Fisher, her great grandchildren, Gus, Milo, Ruby, and Texie Fisher all of Austin, her sister, Marie Carr of Euless, Texas, also many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2013 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home followed by services at 2:00 p.m. in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel.
