Frances Acebo

Frances Acebo Frances Acebo, age 91, passed away on February 18, 2013 in Austin, Texas. Frances was born in Brownsville, Texas to Valentin and Candelaria Salinas and was one of seven children. Frances grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and graduated Raymondville High School in 1939. In 1942, she received her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Texas A&I University in Kingsville. She was an elementary school teacher in Lyford, Texas for 36 years. She was married to Santos Manuel Flores in 1944 and was blessed with two children, Santos Manuel Flores, Jr. and Edna Belinda Flores. Widowed at an early age, she continued teaching where she met her second husband, Ray Acebo. They lived in San Antonio until his death in 1985 at which time she moved to Austin. She loved gardening, taking long walks, traveling, the Longhorns, San Antonio Spurs, and exercising at Premier Lady Fitness. Frances is survived by her daughter Belinda Flores, her sister Alicia Perez, her three grandchildren, Michael Flores of New York, Melinda Paredes of San Antonio, and Stephanie Flores of San Antonio, and her great grandchild Joshua Paredes. Rosary will be held at 11:00 on Friday, February 22, 2013 followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 at Santa Cruz Catholic Church, Buda, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The .
