GIESEN Sr., Frank Edward
Frank Edward Giesen, Sr., age 88, of Austin, passed away on June 1, 2014. He was born on October 3, 1925 in Austin, Texas to Francis Edward and Marie (Rankin) Giesen. He served his country during World War II
in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked for Western Electric Company, retiring after 36 years of employment. He loved to travel, study genealogy, and enjoyed hunting and being outdoors.
Mr. Giesen is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty, and his son, Frank, Jr. He is survived by his sons, Guy and wife Dona Giesen of Austin and Don and wife Cyndi Giesen of Austin; grandchildren, Jason and wife Rhonda Giesen, Nicole and husband Charles Harvey, David and wife Rebecca Giesen, and Lisa and husband Zac Ponds; step-grandchildren, Clint Bradford, Melanie Givens, and Stephanie McVey; and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Preslee Giesen, Weston Harvey, William Giesen, and Zoey and Vincent Ponds.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the funeral home chapel. He will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels.
