Gary Neil Landfried

Gary Neil Landfried Gary Neil Landfried of Waco went to be with our Heavenly Father on April 19, 2013. He was born on September 21, 1962, to Talbert and Joan Landfried in Austin. Gary graduated from Richfield High School in Waco in 1981. After graduation, he enrolled at Texas State Technical Institute and earned an Associate Degree in Electro- Mechanical Drafting and Design. He then went to work for Ratheon E-Systems/L-3 as an aircraft design engineer. His work consisted of redesigning the interiors of Boeing Business Jets flown into Waco for foreign dignitaries. He worked on the design of SETI radio telescopes as well as aerial nuclear command posts. He was instrumental in designing the door apparatus for NASA's airborne observatory, SOFIA, and worked for Ratheon/L-3 for 23 years. Afterwards, he went to work for Delta G Design for five years. Gary was baptized and confirmed in Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austin, and went for his first six years in school at Redeemer. He loved playing golf and other sports. He played on softball teams for a number of years. His other hobbies included hunting, fishing, boating and flying model airplanes. Gary is survived by his parents, Talbert and Joan Landfried of Austin; wife, Kathryn Blake Landfried of Waco; brother, Len and wife, Barbara, of Jonestown; brother, Larry and wife, Liz, of Austin; brother, Gayland and wife, Lu Ann of Lago Vista; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. A graveside service to celebrate Gary's life will be held at ten o'clock on Saturday, the 27th of April 2013, at Cook-Walden Capital Park Cemetery, Pflugerville, Texas with Pastor Dave Schroder officiating. A memorial service will be held at the Cameron Park Clubhouse in Waco, Texas at half past three o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 11th of May 2013.
