Georgia B. Pool(1921 - 2013)

Georgia B. Pool July 15, 2013 Georgia Pool, age 91, passed away on July 15, 2013, in Austin, TX. She was born on December 12, 1921, at home near Cistern, Texas to V.H. Barina and Mollie Mares Barina. Georgia married Roy Pool in 1947. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Cathedral in Austin. Georgia graduated from Smithville High School and attended the University of Texas. From an early age, Georgia's passion was family. From her time on the farm to her time in Austin, Georgia was known for her hospitality, home cooking and generosity. Her home was open to all, and frequented by her and her husband's many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Georgia was affectionately known as "Aunt Georgee". Georgia was preceded in death by her husband Roy who died in 1972, and her youngest sister, Helen Matocha who passed away this May. She also was preceded in death by her parents, V.H. Barina and Mollie Mares Barina. Georgia is survived by her son Roy Dalton Pool Jr. and wife Lynn Pool and their sons Winston Pool and wife Kim, and Dalton Pool. She is also survived by her daughter Georgianne Walker and husband Matt Walker and their three children Jenna Walker, Jeffrey Walker and wife Taylor and Jonathan Walker. Georgia was the oldest of seven sisters; her surviving sisters are Bertha Norman of Richardson, Edna Tennison of Florida, Gladys Zimmerhanzel of La Grange, Mary Barina of Bastrop and Dorthy Barina Young of Houston. Our Family would like to thank the staff at Stonebridge Health Center and TexasHomeHealth "Home Care & Hospice. We are so grateful; all of you do the Lord's work. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 18, at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for 9:30 AM, Friday, July 19, 2013, at St Mary's Cathedral in Austin. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
