James Mahoney

James Richard (Dick) Mahoney James Richard (Dick) Mahoney, 86, of Lakeway, Texas, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 20, 2012, after a lengthy illness. Dick Mahoney was born on August 27, 1926, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Albert John Mahoney and Agnes Conway Mahoney. Dick grew up in Enid, graduating from Enid High School in 1944. After serving his country in the Navy V-12 Officer Training Program at The University of Texas at Austin, he finished his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. He married the love of his life, Jackie Wiley Welborn on February 14, 1953 in Houston, Texas. Dick joined Texaco right out of college and worked there until 1980. He is best remembered for his passion for the Lord and his family, as well as his wonderful sense of humor, his love of crossword puzzles, wood-working and football. He was a devout Catholic who refused to speak ill of anyone and insisted on using his words and blessings to bless others. Dick is survived by his wife, Jackie of Lakeway, Texas, their five children and their spouses: Mike Mahoney and wife, Susan of Houston, Texas; Jack Mahoney and wife, Marilyn of Plano, Texas; Pat Mahoney and wife Nancy of Coppell, Texas; Katie Dunn and husband John of Alice, Texas and Anne Roller and husband Kirk, of San Ramon, California, as well as seven grandchildren, Ryan Mahoney, Rob Mahoney, Jack Dunn, Brian Dunn, Clay Dunn, Beth Roller and Blake Roller. The memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30th at Emmaus Catholic Church, Lakeway, Texas.
