HUDSON, James P.
James P. Hudson, loving husband of Diane Crowley Hudson, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 1:39 p.m., from complications of pneumonia. He was 83. Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Diane, his daughter, Shelley and her spouse, Sam Parker. He had two adoring grandchildren, Darby and Hudson Parker, whom he loved dearly. He was one of six children, the late Garnet Whitley, Hazel Eloise Depew, Joyce Kovachevich, the late Karrol Hudson, and Carolyn Graham. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and numerous extended family members.
Jim was born in Dexter, Michigan to parents Chester M. Hudson and Hazel E. Hudson (Higgins) on June 10, 1930. Growing up, Jim lived in Michigan and California. He attended Phineas Banning High School. He is retired U.S. Navy
and served in the Korean War
. After, he started a 25 year career with FDIC as a bank liquidator that took him and his wife all over the country during their 47 years of marriage. During that time, he earned a Bachelors and Master Degree. In 1983, he and Diane settled in the Chicago area where he continued a career in banking. They lived there until moving to Lakeway in 2007 to be near their daughter and grandchildren.
Jim loved fishing and reading. He enjoyed traveling, most especially his extended trips to Japan with his wife and Hawaii with his family. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars
Visitation to be held Monday, March 3rd from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 411 RR 620 South, Lakeway, Texas. A prayer service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Services will be at Emmaus Catholic Church, 1718 Lohman's Crossing on Tuesday, March 4th at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon will be served immediately following.
