Kenneth L. Stone

Kenneth L Stone Ken Stone, 55, died unexpectedly on Sunday November 4, 2012 while out of the country on business. He was born in Wahiawa, HI March 26, 1957 to Kayoko Nakao Stone and the late Lewis M Stone. Ken spent much of his childhood moving from base to base as his father was transferred in the Army. The family finally settled in El Paso, TX and Ken graduated from Irvin High School. He attended Rice University, earning a BA in Electrical Engineering in 1979. His career began in Dallas working as an engineer in the high tech industry. He moved on to Austin, working for Advanced Micro Devices and then Motorola, developing an expertise in silicon chip design. Opportunity arose for him to move to the sales side of the industry and he quickly became known for his knowledge base of both the technical and sales sides of the semiconductor industry. Ken was a loving husband, adoring "father " to his border collies, trusted son, brother, loyal and kind friend. He was known for a strong work ethic, wicked sense of humor, kindness and his big heart. Many of those who knew Ken the longest believed he was a lifetime bachelor but that changed in 1995 when he met his wife, Robyn. Together, they travelled the world, enjoyed a love of wine and art and met life head on side by side. Ken is survived by his wife, Robyn Scott of Austin, TX, mother, Kayoko Stone of Tacoma, WA, brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Susanne Stone of El Paso, TX, niece and great- nephew Marianne Stone and Christopher of El Paso, TX and niece Ember Stone of Columbia, MD. His also survived by his numerous friends around the world. A memorial service and celebration is being planned for the near future.
