Kennith Henry James Bohls

Kennith Henry James Bohls Kennith Henry James Bohls passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012. He was born November 27, 1920 in Austin, Texas. Kennith attended the Pflugerville schools, including the Saturday German School, and Texas Lutheran Junior College. He served in the Army near the end of World War II in the Philippines and Korea. Kennith was a farmer in the Pflugerville and Richland area. As a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Chruch, he served and participated in Luther League, Choir, Sunday School Superintendent, Church Council, Church Treasure and various committees. He was a member of the VFW and Charter Member of Pflugerville's Volunteer Fire Department. Kennith served several years as Pflugerville's Democratic Precinct Chairman. Kennith especially enjoyed his trips to Las Vegas and various horse racing tracks. He was fond of gathering with his friends at Knebel's (Tuffs) Tavern for nearly 70 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry John and Olga Fuchs Bohls, and his sister, Evelyn Bohls. Kennith was a descendent of some of Pflugerville's earliest German settlers. He was proud that he had lived and farmed his entire life of the homestead of his grandparents, Henry and Julie Bohls. Kennith enjoyed many family celebrations, gatherings and reunions with his first cousins. Those surviving cousins are Julia Mellenbruch, Te Timmerman, Harriet Hocker, Robert Fuchs, Aleta Bennett, Clarence Bohls, Otto Bohls, Jr., Lillian Thronton, Anita Lacy, Vivian Johnson, Floyd Fuchs, Wilfred Fuchs, Margaret Vorwerk, Mary Jo Fuchs, Bonnie Emlaw, and Julia Escott. He is also survived by numerous second and third cousins. Very special thanks are given to the Pflugerville Care Center for his three final years of care. Special thanks to Honorary Pallbearers John Pfluger and Larry Hodde for their many years of help. Visitation will be Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 10:00 a.m at Immanuel Lutheran Church followed by Kennith's funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, 500 Immanuel Road, Pflugerville, TX 78660. Remembrances may be left at
