Otis Evatt McCain
Otis Evatt McCain of Austin, Texas passed away on March 6, 2013 at the age of 89. He was born on December 24, 1923 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Noel M. McCain and Louise Ryland McCain and grew up in Pine Bluff along with three brothers and one sister. Otis always had a strong interest in electronics; and, after high school he joined the United States Army
Air Corps/ Air Force . He served from WWII
through Vietnam and received the Bronze Star
and Metorius Service Metal for his work in Electronic Warfare. Major Otis McCain retired from the Air Force in 1972 after devoting 27 years of service to our country. After retiring, Otis spent many hours researching his family ancestry and traveling extensively around the world. He enjoyed reconnecting with family members and making new acquaintances. Otis was preceded in death by his wife Lillian Johnson McCain, whom he was married to for over 50 years. He is survived by his son Lloyd Evatt McCain and his wife Gil McCain of Germany, his son, Robert Michael McCain and his wife Judith McCain of Austin. Otis is also survived by three grandchildren, Kathrin McCain of France, Mark McCain of Chicago, Illinois, and Scott McCain of Austin. A private memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
