Ruby Mae Houston

Ruby Mae Houston On the morning of July 14, 2012 Ruby heard "Well done, good and faithful servant". Ruby professed Christ at an early age. She and her family united with High Pointe (Christ Memorial) Baptist Church on January 1981. Ruby met the love of her life Leroy on July 10, 1951 and they married two years later on May 23, 1953. Not only was Leroy (pictured above) the love of her life, he was her best friend and soul mate. This courtship continued until Leroy passed the morning of May 23, 2011 their 58th anniversary. Their strong commitment to the union of marriage was truly a blessing and inspiration to many who knew them. Ruby is survived by: her daughter Kimberly Houston of Cabot, Arkansas; brother John E. Houston, Sr., (Zora) of Monrovia, CA; brother-in-law Charles Houston (Fernell) of Austin, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 19 at High Pointe Baptist Church 12030 Dessau Rd. The public may view from 2-6:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 18 at Mercer Memorial Chapel at Fuller-Sheffield 2808 East Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
