Shannon Madison

Shannon Lovinggood Madison Shannon Lovinggood Madison, Beloved Husband, Dad, Brother, Grandfather, passed on July 1st, 2013, peacefully in his sleep. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Jean Gillespie Madison of 62 years. To that union 5 children were born, Wayne, Michael, Stephanie, Sharron and Maria. Then, 18 exceptional grandchildren, as well as 6 great-grandchildren, all learning to lead by his example of compassion and service. Shannon is also survived by his equally heroic and talented brother, Colonel Thomas Madison of Austin, Texas and his lovely wife, Henry Etta Madison. During his lifetime, Shannon served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II, earning a Victory Medal for Good Conduct. He went on to graduate from Howard University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Shannon was dedicated to community development and public service such as building low-income housing and owning Hal-Bilt homes. Memorial service 11 am, Monday, July 8, 2013 at King-Tears Mortuary. Interment Salem Methodist Cemetery.
