In their later years, Tom and his wife Christy enjoyed traveling and antiquing. He was a proud Texan who owned numerous pairs of cowboy boots and cheered on the Longhorns. Both he and his wife were proud grandparents and always happy to make a trip to North Carolina for the grandchildrens' birthday parties, holidays and other special occasions.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, January 18 at Austin-Peel and Son Funeral Home, located at 607 E. Anderson Ln in Austin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Boy Scouts of America.
