BAYLOR, Wilma E. "Red"

Wilma E. (Red) Baylor, 93, of Austin, Texas, died on April 9, 2014, in Houston, Texas. He was born on February 1, 1921 in Smithville, Texas to Thomas Jefferson Baylor and Mamie Nancy Payne Baylor.

Wilma served our country in the U.S. Army during WWII. Red and his wife, Jimmie, moved to Austin in the early 50's and soon became part of the Rosedale Baptist Church community. He worked for and retired from the State Health Department. In 2006, Red moved to Houston to be closer to his family. Wilma was a people person who enjoyed his friends and family, always leaving them with a smile on their face.

He is survived by his daughter Barbara Baylor; son Jim Baylor; grandchildren David Loesch (Laura), Darrin Loesch (Allison), Jennifer Baylor, Brandon Baylor (Cindy) and Jamie Baylor; great grandchildren Ashley Loesch, Joshua Loesch, Alexander Predmore, Dana Baylor, Casey Baylor and Travis Loesch.

Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on N. Lamar with a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at Austin Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jim Baylor, Darrin Loesch, Brandon Baylor, David Loesch and Joshua Loesch.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Wilma to Rosedale Baptist Church, 4400 Maybelle Avenue, Austin, Texas 78756.
