Teresa Brawner Obituary

Teresa O'Reilly Brawner Teresa O'Reilly Brawner, age 72, of Georgetown, formerly of Highland Village, Texas, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2007. She was born in Dublin, Ireland on August 14, 1935 and raised in the Irish Industrial Schools as an orphan from age of 15 months until she graduated at the age of 15 years. She went to England and trained and worked as a nurse. Teresa never knew her mother or father. Doing genealogical research in 1990's she located her family of a brother, sister and many cousins. She located the grave of her mother in Birmingham, England. Teresa met her husband in 1963, James Brawner, stationed with the USAF in England. She became a U.S. citizen in 1967. Although of Irish heritage, Teresa loved the U.S. and was a patriotic U.S. citizen. She was preceded in death by her mother Jane O'Reilly and daughter Kathleen T. Leifeste. She is survived by her husband, James E. Brawner, Jr. of Georgetown; children, Patricia C. Herrin of Florence, James E. Brawner III of Cedar Park and Lisa Childers of Mechanicsville, Virginia; brother, Christopher O'Reilly of Dublin, Ireland; sister, Molly (O'Reilly) Lyon of Dublin, Ireland; daughter- in-law, Leanne Brawner of Cedar Park; son-in-law, George A. Herrin of Florence; grandson, Jeb Brawner of Cedar Park; and granddaughters, Jennifer Herrin of Florence, Ashley and Jamie Leifeste both of Llano and Amanda, Kristi and Cassie Brawner all of Cedar Park. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2007 in the chapel of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home with Reverend John Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Teresa's name to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Austin Affiliate, P.O. Box 2164, Austin, Texas 78768. Until we meet again, May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back.
