James Hoes Obituary



James Norman Hoes James Norman Hoes, 70, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, July 20, 2006, in the presence of his family. James was born on April 4, 1936, in Cameron, Texas, to Clara Felfe Hoes and William Hoes. James painted houses in the Austin area for over 40 years. All who knew James will attest to his personal and professional integrity, kindness and magnetic personality. His positive outlook on life and his humor inspired many. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He especially enjoyed the times he spent with his daughters. James was a wonderful father, husband and grandfather (PaPa). He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, William Hoes; sister, Aline Foster; sister, Jeanette Swenson; and brother, Ernest (Buck) Hoes. James will be sadly missed by his wife, Norma of 47 years; and loving daughters, Debbie Davidson and husband, Doug; Angela Young and husband, Allen; two grandchildren, Blake and Amy Davidson; sisters, Frances Melde, Margaret Joseph and Patsy Stromberg; brothers, Nelson Hoes, Eugene Hoes and Harold Hoes; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, neighbors and friends. The family will receive friends and family from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Cook- Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, located at 6300 W. William Cannon Drive. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 24, 2006, in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks, with Minister John Allert officiating. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
