ELMORE, Robert Frank "Bob"|
July 15, 1946 - July 10, 2014.
Bob Elmore of Austin, Texas believed the Heaven was being a 12 year-old boy again with a new bike and a dog that loved him. He became that boy on Thursday, July 10, 2014 while on vacation in Taos, New Mexico.
Bob was born on July 15, 1946 in Borger, Texas to Evelyn and Frank Elmore. He lived all over Texas during his life but called Austin home for the past decade. Bob served in the United States Marine Corps and held an Honors degree from the University of Texas in History and Education, which he completed in 2011.
Bob most recently donated his time and education to Goodwill industries, where he worked to help students pursue their GED. Bob was a true outdoorsman. His passions included bird hunting, fishing the Texas Gulf Coast, and kayaking the rivers of the state he loved so dearly. He will be remembered for his kind and giving heart, his easy-going nature, and his quick sense of humor.
Bob is survived by his wife, Laurie Roberts, brothers Neil and Mark Elmore, and children Chris Elmore, Casey Elmore Schuhmacher, John Elmore, and Elizabeth Roberts. He is also survived by his grandchildren Emily and Claire Elmore, Henry, Sam and Georgia Schuhmacher, and Tyler and Lauren Elmore. A Memorial will be held for Bob on Friday, July 18, 2014. at 3 p.m. at First Unitarian Universalist Church at 4700 Grover Ave. in Austin. Those wishing to make donations are encouraged to do so at Goodwill of Central Texas or Wounded Warriors, two organizations close to Bob's heart.
If three words could be used to describe Bob, they would be: Love, Family, and Texas.
He lived exuberantly and loved greatly in the "-".
