Alice Prim Memoriam

Remembrance/In Memoriam

In Remembrance of Alice (Hutter) Prim Alice Prim went to the Lord at her home in San Clemente, CA on January 26, 2009, while gazing toward her loving husband of 66 years holding her hand, and their daughter at his side. She will be missed by her husband, Robert Prim III, her daughter Virginia Simmons, two sons, Robert Prim IV and Charles Prim, and three grandsons, Robert Prim V, James Prim and Geoffrey Simmons. Alice was raised in Austin by her grandparents, Charles and Alice Maud Hutter. Shortly after graduating from the University of Texas, Austin in 1942, she moved to Schenectady, NY to wed Robert Clay Prim, III. Robert had previously graduated from UT in 1941. They both met while attending church at the First Southern Presbyterian Church. Alice devoted her life to the raising of their three children, supporting her brilliant husband's professional career (Bell Labs, Litton and various Defense Dept assignments), and spent thousands of hours in volunteer services wherever they lived, from the John E Runnells Hospital in NJ to LA City School District clinics, Rancho Bernardo Convalescent Hospital entertaining with her Piano keyboarding, to sing-a-longs at the Chateau in San Juan Capistrano. Alice's dear friends at San Clemente Presbyterian Church will miss her sweetness and gift of hospitality which she embodied.
