Andrew Hawkins Obituary
Andrew Walker Hawkins Jesus called his good and faithful servant Andrew Walker home on 12/29/12. Born to G. Eugene and Bette Smith Hawkins in Houston, TX on 7/4/58, he grew up in Austin and Dallas, graduated from Richardson High School in 1976, attended Texas State University and finally made his home again in Austin. Andy pursued everything with passion and gratitude; his Lord, his family, water-skiing, and his life-long career in the bottle water business. He was active in Covenant Presbyterian Church and several other churches in Austin. He helped establish Movin' and Groovin, a ministry of Covenant which was given the Spirit of Compassion Award by the Foundation for the Homeless in 2010. Andrew was predeceased by his mother Bette Place, and father, Eugene Hawkins. He is survived by brother David and wife Christi, sister Mimi and husband Matt Blankenship, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of Andrew's life will be held January 5th at 10:00 A.M. at the Blankenship residence. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Movin and Groovin' at Covenant Presbyterian Church.
