Obituary Condolences

Annie Mae Downs Armstrong Annie Mae Downs Armstrong, age 85, passed away late Saturday, October 24, 2009 in Austin, Texas. She was born in Sandersville, Georgia on November 21, 1923. Annie is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert Luke Armstrong, and her parents, Ida Mae and George W. Downs. She is survived by daughter, Lynda Armstrong Cohalla and husband Dick Cohalla; son, Robert Downs Armstrong and wife, Betty Morrison Armstrong; sister, Alleene Drew and her husband George Drew; and many extended family members. Before moving to Austin, she was a long time resident of Tampa, Florida where she graduated from Plant High School. She was a member of Bayshore Baptist Church, Southside Seventh Day Adventist Church, and the Tampa Women's Club. She was also a member of the Austin Seventh Day Adventist Church. We would like to thank the caregivers at Heartland Health Care Center for their many kindnesses to our Mother. We will miss you and think of you often. A Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home in Austin. An inurnment is planned for a later date at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
