Arthur Rivenburgh Obituary
Arthur "Art" Rivenburgh Arthur "Art" Rivenburgh of Cedar Park, Texas departed on his journey, July 27, 2013 at the age of 86. Art was born in Pennsylvania on Groundhog Day, February 2, 1927. He graduated Olney High School in Philadelphia and joined the U.S. Navy during WWII. After completing photography school he joined the navy reserve during the Korean conflict continuing his photography skills. Throughout his remaining career Art fulfilled his love of photography in numerous positions and retired after working at the U.S. Department of Agriculture Research Center. His position was providing photographic presentations for scientific seminars and was awarded numerous accommodations throughout the years. He was highly respected and greatly appreciated by the scientist and their staff. Upon retirement in 1989, he and his wife, JoAnne relocated to Cedar Park. They both joined the newly formed Treasure of the Hills Senior Center. For the next 10 years Art created the centers history albums and served in various board positions. His was most proud of designing and creating the logo for "The Golden Gazette", their monthly newsletter. Art is survived by his wife of 49 years, JoAnne; stepson Mike Wallis and wife Barbara of North Richland Hills, Texas and stepdaughter Cindy Powell of Waco, Texas. Additional survivors include five grandchildren; Brooke, Rachel, Sara, Kiel and Kelly along with 4 great-grandchildren. Art's body has been donated to the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He was a kind, generous, patient and fun-loving man who was full of life and always willing to help others. He will be missed by all his family and friends! A memorial will be held in the Fall at his second home, Treasure of the Hills Senior Center.
