Ausencio "A.D" Benavides- "Chencho" 1933-2012 Ausencio "A.D." Benavides (Chencho) age 78 passed away peacefully at his home in Austin, Texas surrounded by his family. He was born in Fashing, Texas on December 18th, 1933 and went home to the Lord on August 3rd, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife Rev. Olivia R. Benavidez, his children, Diana B. Soliz, Linda Herreres (Ted), Eva Benavidez (John), Ausencio Benavidez Jr. His seven grandchildren who love him dearly and his thirteen great grandchildren. Sisters Merce Martinez, Margaritia Garcia (Lino), Consuelo Castaneda (Joe), Brothers Javier Benavidez Sr. (Hermenia), Felipe Benavidez (Fela). He is preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Caridad Benavidez, brother Apolinar "Pole" Benavidez, sisters Felicitas Hood, Longina Loya, and Dominga Ramirez. He was a lifetime City of Austin (Wastewater Treatment Plant) employee who retired in 1995. Most importantly he was a strong man of God who loved the Lord and all who knew him could see he lived like that. He was known for his guitar playing and singing, which, brought all his family such joy. We will always have these wonderful, beautiful memories of him with his family singing songs to the Lord. His favorite scripture Psalms 121:1-2 "I will lift up my eyes to the hills- where does help come from? My Help comes from the Lord the maker of the heavens and the earth." Serving as pallbears will be Ausencio Benavidez Jr., Fabian Gloria, Joshua Benavidez, Paul Gamez, Rey Gamez, and Oscar Gamez. Honorary pallbears will be his great-grandsons. Formal Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00p.m., Monday at Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First (South). Christian Funeral Service will begin at 11:00a.m., on Tuesday at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. (South) Cremation will follow at a later date. There will be a luncheon to follow.
