My deepest sympathy to the Breedlove family. I lost a brother recently and I now know the pain you were feeling. What a blessing Ben was to you and all of us. I never knew him but he seemed like a very special young man. Am reading your daughter's book now about him and his life. Thank you for sharing his story. Ben, I consider the time spent the past ten years thinking about you and your message time well spent and a blessing from God. Today though, for the first time ever, I thought about the visually impaired who heard about you and your message, but never saw a picture of you, your kind face and sweet smile, the videos and your notecards. All this time I took all that for granted. They believed without seeing. Now I finally see, your gift to us has even more meaning. Your message timeless.

Ben, I want to wish you a Happy (August) Birthday. It has been almost 9 years now since I started writing to you. It's hard to accept that so many years have gone by. I can almost feel the sense of loss for your family and friends. Nothing can change that. We all wish you were still here. All I know is that God brought me to your obituary and your video totally woke me up from a very lazy relationship with Him. From your experience with social media, you had no clue where your message would land, or if it would land at all. To me, uncertainty. To you, solid faith. I still see other people posting remembrances and memorials to you on various websites. I continuously pray to God that He brings yet more people to your message. For me, solid faith that He will do so. More now than ever do people need to know what you knew in your heart. I feel nothing but pure joy for those who have opened their hearts and minds to your message.

Ben, the other day I was watching again your tribute to Gina, a former neighbor of yours. I wondered aloud if people in heaven are somehow aware when we're thinking about them. Sometimes I have doubts, but today I have none! Thank you for finding a way to answer my question. This morning, just by chance when driving through an area where several boats are lined up for the winter, what did I see? One small boat caught my eye. A boat with a name painted on it: Floating Bear. Right away I remembered something from the book your sister wrote. That was a childhood name connected to you.

It has been 8 long years since Ben's transition from this earthly life to his eternal life in Heaven. However, it seems like just a moment of time.
Ben, your time in this life still marvels all of us who have come to know you as you are, uniquely, one who can't just be the young man who people just came to know of.
While I never had the privilege of knowing you personally, I have been honored to have come to know you and the power of such a remarkable life as that you lived and shared through YouTube and your having just being Ben.

Here in our area we are mourning the loss of a very young man due to a terrible accident. The message in your video plays in my mind when trying to reason why these things happen. Something about summer that makes me think about you often. I guess its because I've seen you in numerous pictures posted online having a great time on the lake with your buddies. I'm sure there was more going on for you than that especially with your family and school, but in my mind you'll always be that happy fun loving kid who "rode" over open water. To this day I am so grateful to God that you had that earthly freedom.

Today when driving by a church I noticed a sign in front of their building, and upon it was a portion of a Bible verse unfamiliar to me, something about having your life "rooted in love." I thought of you, your life and love of God and family. Admittedly, I had to look up the whole verse.
I should explain, I seldom drive down that road but today felt compelled to do so. Earlier today I was thinking I wanted to write to you but couldn't come up with something new and ....well, I believe God helped me out with His Words.
Ephesians 3:14-19
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

The video you made about your experiences and heavenly visions made an immense impact on so many people around the world. For me, it meant returning to God's Word. To this day I still read my Bible frequently. I do it because I want to. It's a feeling of enjoyment rather than one of obligation.

Last week we had to have our beloved old cat put down. I thought he was losing weight due to his age, but a test confirmed he had cancer. Even though I believe all of God's creation return to Him in heaven, it broke my heart to say goodbye. Yesterday I was looking at the last picture we have of him.
Suddenly I envisioned Jesus holding my cat. My cat looked healthy and happy.
It dawned on me he returned to his creator. He's in good hands. God made him new again the second he crossed over.
Many people do not believe animals enter heaven.
Many people do not believe in God or angels.

You admitted to getting caught up with other issues but you managed to reset your thinking. You had so much to deal with yet your faith was foremost.

I Just watched the video of your precious son and brother Ben and it brought tears to my eyes. What an amazing young man. He was given a gift and was put on this earth to be a messenger for God. He was given the miracle of experiencing heaven's spirituality. It is a feeling of serenity, peace, warmth and the deepest love that cannot be described in simple words. When my mother passed away last year, I was with her and I experienced her spirit surrounding and holding me. It was as if she walked through me. I think God gave me this good-bye gift to show me the grace and light that she was entering into His heavenly place. It was amazing and I know Heaven is real and beautiful. Be assured we will be with our loved ones again. It is His promise.

Dear Deanne,
I posted that prayer here. It's typed out on a little piece of paper that I use as a bookmark. Lately it has been residing in a very much loved and frequently referred to book, "When Will the Heaven Begin." I know you're familiar with the story.
My story: Your son's life and video turned me back to God.
To read here that I somehow helped you, his mom... I have no words to describe how deeply I am grateful to God for allowing me to somehow do this.
Whatever rough patch you're going through, please take comfort in knowing many of us have kept Ben's message in our thoughts and hearts.

To whoever wrote the Peace Prayer of St. Francis,
These words helped me with a very difficult situation that I've been dealing with lately. It helped me take the focus off of my own need for comfort and healing, and instead focus on someone else's need for healing and comfort. Thank you for posting this prayer here! It has really changed my heart for the good.
Thank you and all the others here for honoring Ben. I pray that each of us will take Ben's message and keep our eyes on our God, our Heavenly Father. He is with us always and is there when we need Him. He helps us directly, or through the "hands and feet of Jesus". He helped me today by bringing me to this site to see this beautiful prayer of St. Francis. Thank you, Father, for always loving us and caring for us.

I learned so much from you, especially the importance of peace of mind and soul. We get so wrapped up in things here; sometimes we actually forget to take care of what matters the most.

I found the nicest article online about your dear brother and his passion and success for wake surfing. He says you're the one who provided the inspiration and encouragement. He feels that same peaceful vibe you always found when flying on the water.

Today at the store I noticed a young mom with a toddler. The little boy smiled at me and I was struck by his resemblance to you. He looked so much like one of the pictures of you in your sister's book. Right away I thought, he looks just like Ben! He had that same sweet smile and nice eyes.
Your family and friends must still go through several strong emotions when they look at pictures of you. All those feelings wrapped up into a tight ball, but ultimately love and pride win out.
I know you have a birthday coming up; it's on the same date as one of my relatives. That day brings up a lot of feelings too for your loved ones. But then again, all the love you shared with them never ceases to grow. The knowledge you were "proud" of how you lived your life is a gift to them. The sharing of your life is a gift to all.
