Dorothy Lucille Abbott Dorothy Lucille Abbott of Austin, Texas, formerly of Yakima, Washington and Boulder, Colorado passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2007. She was born July 14, 1921 in Longmont, Colorado to Ben and Louise (Holtby) Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Chester L. Abbott, her daughter Nancie, her parents and her brother Don Adams. She is survived by her daughters Mardi Abbott of Eugene, Oregon and Judi Serur and husband Brig. Gen. John Serur, USAF, Ret.; and grandsons, Steven Abbott Serur, John Scott Serur, and Christopher Serur. Dorothy was an active wife, mother, and business partner with her husband in running Abbott's Printing, a commercial printing company in Yakima, Washington. Abbott's Printing was a manufacturer of printed materials with worldwide distribution. She was an accomplished violinist who enjoyed playing with the Yakima civic symphony. She loved traveling with her husband and daughters. Upon the death of her husband she moved to Austin and spent the past eight years living at the Continental Retirement Community apartments where she has enjoyed spending her days with her many friends. The family will have a memorial service at the Continental Retirement Community in Austin at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2006. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Allen Sonstein and his staff for their dedicated care and attention. The family asks that memorials be given to the Oak Hill Methodist Church building fund or to the Hospice Austin Christopher House.
