Obituary Condolences

G.W. Berry, Jr G.W.Berry, Jr., age 85, of Lampasas, TX, died December 29, 2011, at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. He was born in Burnet County May 7, 1926, to Wesley and Anna Mallett Berry, graduated Lampasas High School, and was in Air Force pilot training when World War II ended. He and Naomi Green were married November 2, 1962. Self-employed through most of his career, he was best known locally as owner of Lampasas Hardware, which he and Naomi bought in 1983. He retired to full-time ranching in 2007. G.W. had many friends, and everyone remembers him for his kindness and down-to-earth nature. He went through life with a positive attitude that affected everyone he came in contact with. He was a truthful and honest man. Mr. Berry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Naomi; son Bill Berry of Denver; daughter Kathryn Tucker and husband Bill of Dallas; grandchildren Elisabeth Tucker and Cameron Berry; a sister and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, January 1, 2012, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Mr. Berry's funeral service will be Monday, January 2, 2012, 10 a.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel, Reid Schaub officiating and Stan Elkins, Andy Garcia, Mike Mallett, H.G. Parker, Brad Thiem, and Frank Wakeman pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Odell Mallett, Merritt Romans and Charles Stokes. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery immediately following the service. Memorials may be sent to the . Sneed Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
