Joan Carol Leps Obituary
Joan Carol Leps Joan Carol Leps went to heaven on February 19, 2013. She was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on May 7, 1952 to Elgin and Lucille Prueitt. She was married to Ron Leps on August 3, 1974. Joan received her nursing degree in May of 1985 and used that degree to serve in the ER, OR, and enjoyed her last 20 years caring to people in need at the Wesleyan Nursing Home in Georgetown, Texas. Joan was also an active member of First Baptist Church Georgetown. In her 29 years as a church member, Joan severed as children thru teen Sunday school teacher, GA leader, Disciple Now host family, and medical team mission trip member. Joan likewise enjoyed singing with the Singing Women of Central Texas. During her free time Joan, Momom, loved to play with her grandsons. She taught them how to scramble eggs, gave them their first taste of chocolate, baked cookies, pushed them in the swing, read books, and could be counted as a safe, comfortable lap to fall asleep. Joan enjoyed baking mouthwatering desserts, floating in the pool with a good book, and had recently learned how to crochet. One of her favorite past times of late was to sit outside with her family and enjoy her "tear garden" made of the beautiful flowers her loving husband (and grandsons) planted for her. Joan is survived by her husband Ron Leps of Georgetown; daughter, Leah, her husband Michael and son Michael Blake Magnon of Round Rock; daughter, Laura and her son JJ Leps of Georgetown; father and mother, Elgin and Lucille Prueitt; and numerous other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all that have prayed, supported, cooked, and listened during these past few years. Our faithful friends have made this journey a blessing instead of the curse it could have been. For those who wish, memorial contributions can be made to Children at Heart Foundation, Singing Women of Central Texas, Wesleyan Nursing Home, or . A Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Ramsey Funeral Home, 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 22, 2013 at First Baptist Church Georgetown, 1333 W. University Ave, Georgetown, TX. Interment will follow the service at Weir Cemetery in Weir, TX. You are invited to share a message or memory in the memorial guestbook at www.RamseyFuneral.com
