Lucille Fortunato Obituary
Lucille Fortunato Born August 30, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY and died peacefully February 8, 2013 in Austin, TX. Married Nunzio "Mike" Fortunato on June 15, 1947. They moved to Dallas and stayed throughout their 58 year marriage. Preceded in death by her beloved Mike, and parents, Giuseppe and Carmela Plantamura. Survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Maria and Bobby Baker, Michele Fortunato and David Horsley, Joanne and Dwayne Wiggins; grandchildren, Matthew and Rachel Horsley, Tyler Buxkemper and Kellie Wiggins; sister, Loretta Napolitano. Lu's family was her world. Her arms were always open to give you a hug, and she hugged everyone. She was a member of St Pius X parish in Dallas for 53 years and active with Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Lu retired from DISD as a nurse aid. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday, Feb 20 at 10:30 a.m. at St Pius X Catholic Church at 3030 Gus Thomasson Road, Dallas followed by a Reception in the Parish Hall. Inurnment at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas at 1:15 p.m. Services conducted by Deacon Paul Powers of St Pius X.
