María was a devoted, spiritual woman with a strong faith. A proud Tejana and a loyal Democrat, she advocated for equality and instilled in her family the importance of voting and giving back to the community. She was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Carmelite Society. She loved dancing, music, sewing, as well as being a caregiver to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and opened her door to anyone in need of support. While María leaves an empty space in our hearts that can never be filled, and we will miss her greatly, we rejoice in knowing she is reunited with our Lord and our Virgen. Rosary to be held on Friday, Oct 26 at 7:00p at Angel Funeral Home, 1606 S. First Street, in Austin; Mass, Saturday, Oct 27 at 10:00a at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1206 E. 9th Street.
