Mary Duran 1941-2013 Mary R. Duran of Austin passed away Friday, January 11 at the age of 72. Mary was preceded in death by her father Dr. Anthony Rousos of Austin, Margaret Walker of Baltimore, and her son Jimmy Demos of Casper. Mary touched everyone with her overwhelming abundance of beauty, unlimited compassion, engaging personality, and sweet disposition. As a proud public servant, Mary served in the offices of then Secretary of State Mark White, Comptroller Bob Bullock, and Attorney General Jim Mattox. She leaves behind her husband of 42 years, R.G. "Rabbit" Duran, her loving brother, Tony Rousos, her children, Lisa Blonkvist, George Fancher III, Catherine Ferrell, Angela Hood, Ryan Duran and her many beloved grandchildren, Alicia, Mark, Jonathon, Brent, Brittany, Brady, Gabe, Jacob, Stephanie, Douglas and great grandchild Jayden. Formal Visitation will be 4:30 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013 with a Funeral Service to follow at 6:30 p.m. at the Mission Funeral Home Serenity Chapel 6204 South First Street. A reception will follow at the Serenity Foundation Center.
