Michael Edmond Akers Michael Edmond Akers of Lampasas (formerly of Austin, Tx) passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his parents Oakley Miley Akers Sr. and Bertie Ruth Akers and his brother V. Marvin McMurry. He is survived by his daughter Rene Betancourt and Patrick along with two grandchildren Jacob Donald Booth and Sarah Rene Booth, Marvin's wife Gerda McMurry, Barbara Tharp and Larry, Connie Simmons and Rex, Miley Akers Jr. and Sandra, Monte Akers and Mary.
